Language and culture
How can children help make their own community environmentally-friendly?

To explore this idea, Early Start filmed "Meine Ökostadt"  in Freiburg , Germany's "greenest city". The result is a great new language resource with strong links to popular topics across the curriculum.

A tour of Ephraim's family "Solarhaus" links with "Keeping warm" in Science - children explore how to design a house with near-zero energy bills.

We see children use  Freiburg's cycle paths;  football fans  come to the match by bike and tram; how a typical family recycles its waste; a school garden and cookery lesson, the Farmers' Market by the medieval cathedral and the local Zoo  - each linked to different subject areas such as history or geography - and with detailed support in the Teacher's Manual  for planning language lessons.

Pack 2 includes binder containing:-

DVD with 17 specially-filmed sections to use in your classroom;

Flashcards-CD with new songs, karaoke versions, electronic flashcards for class activities, and pronunciation guide for the teacher; Find out more->
